Classic Peter Gabriel Record “So” is the Subject of a New Documentary

Jul 12, 2012 at 11:53 AM | Music News | By Rock Square

Peter Gabriel’s 1986 album So is set to be the next installment in Eagle Rock Entertainment’s “Classic Album series.” While the documentary already aired on the BBC in March, it will be released to American audiences on DVD and Blu-Ray on September 18.

So was Peter Gabriel’s fifth solo album after leaving Genesis. The album was immensely popular, with five of its nine songs going on to becoming hit singles. Among those was “In Your Eyes,” which romantics everywhere will remember from a pivotal scene in Say Anything.

The hour-long So documentary features interviews with Gabriel, co-producer Daniel Lanious, and a handful of musicians who played on the release. The DVD release features an additional 30 minutes of footage not found in the original broadcast.
