Happy 50th Anniversary Rolling Stones!

Jul 12, 2012 at 4:15 PM | MusicNews | By Rock Square

Today, The Rolling Stones celebrate their golden anniversary. Fifty years ago today, the band stepped on stage to perform their first concert at the Marquee Club in London. This was founding members Mick Jagger and Keith Richards’ second time on stage together, having already performed as Little Boy Blue and The Blue Boys in 1961.

The night’s set list:

1. Kansas City

2. Baby What's Wrong

3. Confessin' The Blues

4. Bright Lights, Big City

5. Dust My Blues

6. Down The Road Apiece

7. I'm A Love You

8. Bad Boy

9. I Ain't Got You

10. Hush-Hush

11. Ride 'Em On Down

12. Back In The USA

13. Kind Of Lonesome

14. Blues Before Sunrise

15. Big Boss Man

16. Don't Stay Out All Night

17. Tell Me You Love Me

18. Happy Home

Since then, the band has added two additional members, Bill Wyman (chosen at the time because he owned the best amplifier) and Charlie Watts, who signed on in January of 1963. Since then, the band has gone on to make rock ‘n’ roll history, releasing 29 studio albums, 12 live albums, 30 compilation albums, three extended plays, and 107 singles.

In honor of the occasion, revisit some of the band’s iconic tunes below. From everyone at Rock Square, congratulations!
