Jul 30, 2012 at 12:50 PM | MusicNews | By Rock Square

After 97 dancers recreating the British industrial age, the boom of the Internet, and youth culture, how do you bring an Olympic opening ceremony to a close? With Sir Paul McCartney of course! The famed Beatle took the stage after nearly four hours of celebrating the best and brightest in athleticism and British culture.

Before kicking off his moment in the spotlight, McCartney quoted Beatles song “The End,” saying, “And in the end, the love you take is equal to the love you make.” The intro was followed by a crowd participation heavy take on Beatles’ classic, “Hey Jude.” Watch the full performance below.
