Not flush enough to afford the big Beatles box set we reported on earlier this morning? Well, a less financially crippling bit of Beatlemania will also be released in November. As announced on his official website, Paul McCartney’s recent PBS performance, Live Kisses, will make its way to Blu-ray and DVD courtesy of Eagle Rock Entertainment, which Rock Square readers will recognize as the beneficent rock restorers behind the forthcoming Who and Doors concert films.

The official release date remains sketchy--various outlets are reporting November 9, November 12 and November 13 as possibilities--but the nature of the product’s content appears to have been firmed up.

In addition to the thirteen songs from McCartney’s Live Kisses performance, which was filmed on February 9 at Capitol Studios and premiered on PBS on September 7, the DVD and Blu-ray packages will feature a 40-page hardback book and a number of bonus features, including multiple versions of the McCartney-directed music video for “My Valentine”.

Directed by Jonas Akerlund, Live Kisses captures “a concert unlike any Paul had given before,” according to McCartney’s press release. “Without his famous Höfner bass in hand or in fact any musical instruments, Paul took his place behind the same microphone that has captured some of the most iconic voices in history to focus on his vocal delivery as he led the assembled A-list group of musicians through a collection of the standards he grew up listening to in his childhood, as well as his own original composition ‘My Valentine’.”
