Robert Plant’s Electric Picnic Performance Now Streaming
Robert Plant Presents the Sensational Space Shifters brought their blues-folk-rock goodness to the main stage of Ireland’s Electric Picnic festival on August 31, and now the performance is available as a free stream on Robert Plant’s website here.
The 11-song set features a mix of covers (Joan Baez, Charley Patton, Bukka White), Led Zeppelin tunes (“Black Dog,” “Whole Lotta Love,” “Rock and Roll”) and newer Space Shifters originals (“Tin Pan Valley,” Another Tribe,” “The Enchanter”). Rock Square took a listen to the fifty-minute stream this morning, and we’ve gotta say: Plant is still a riveting performer, and his new band is most definitely up to the task of backing the legend.
Do yourself a favor and get your day started with a little Space Shifting magic.
In other Robert Plant news, the former Led Zeppelin frontman’s website recently relaunched with a new design and a host of new features. In addition to the aforementioned live stream, robertplant.com now offers “a treasure trove of never-before-seen artifacts from Plant’s personal collection, spanning five epic decades of TV interviews, photographs, press clippings, set lists, tour laminates, posters, and music videos, as well as an in-depth discography and gigography.”
In addition, the website will soon run an exclusive “docu-series” chronicling Plant’s recent visit to Mali. Check out robertplant.com for more info.
